Established in 1974, Tarek Riad & Partners – Legal Consultants & Attorneys at Law (TR & P), formerly known as Kosheri, Rashed & Riad, stands as a pioneering force in the realm of arbitration law within the region. Founded by three eminent figures in arbitration, Dr. Tarek Riad, the late Dr. Ahmed Kosheri, and the late Dr. Samia Rashed, the firm has consistently advocated for arbitration as a preferred mechanism for dispute resolution, steering clients away from prolonged litigation processes.

Dr. Tarek Fouad A. Riad

Professor Dr. Riad has an LLB (1980) from Cairo Law School in addition to an LLM (1982) and SJD (1985) from Harvard Law School. Professor Dr. Riad has been a member of the Egyptian Bar since 1980 and a member of New York Bar since 1985 and speaks Arabic, English and French.

Professor Dr. Tarek is the Vise Charman of the Mediation and Arbitration Centre of The Union Of Arab Banks affiliated with the Arab League “مركز الوساطة والتحكيم التابع لاتحاد المصارف العربية التابع لجامعة الدول العربية”

Professor Dr. Riad was member of the board of trustees and the chairman of the executive committee of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) (2013 to 2019), alternate member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (2012 to 2018), and a member of the scientific council of the ICC World Business Law Institute (2005 to 2021) and is currently a member of the Emeritus Council of the ICC Institute, and member of the supreme arbitration council of the UAB Mediation and Arbitration Center of the Union of Arab Banks, since March 2023. Professor Dr. Riad is also a designated member of the ICSID panel of arbitrators and conciliators.
